Blue on Blue

Lovelies, Happy Monday!
I made a necklace not too long ago that I really love.  While I was trying to figure out my polish design for today, my outfit of choice of course came in to play.  I settled on a blue sweater so I could wear the necklace.  Then the decision to stamp a design to match the necklace popped in to my mind.
So here's the necklace, and my Monday mani!!

Animal Print

Oh my Lovelies!  I am sorry to have been neglecting you.  I just realized it's been a while since I updated.  I have changed my nails, but have not been very happy with the result so I didn't post the pics.  I do have them in a folder, so someday I may put up a bunch of bloopers/screw ups...

For now though, I decided that since I will be spending a little time with my grandsons this weekend, I need to have nails that are of something they like.  And since they like wild animals I decided to go with this animal print.

I started with a base coat of Sinful Colors Nirvana.  Stamped it using my Sinful Colors black, and then added a few little dots with my dotting tool and Sally Hanson Insta-dry Cinna-Snap.  I really like how these turned out.  Love the look!

Hawaiian Stamp

How are all my lovelies today??  Last night I had it set in my mind that I would try another water marbling and really wanted to do it with yellow, white, black and orange.  However, the only yellow I have is an insta-dri and those don't work for that application.  I thought I could use the yellow as the base and that it would show through but that didn't work.  So, second attempt at water marbling didn't work.  Since I still had the yellow on as the base, I decided to go ahead and stamp on it.  Here's the result.  :)
Started with Sally Hanson - Lightening.  This is a pretty bright yellow that I really like a lot.  I've got two coats on in this pic.  Next I found the stamp I wanted which turned out to be the same flower one I used a week or so ago.  It's Mash-42.  After applying a couple coats of clear insta-dri, I decided to stick with the insta-dri polishes and picked out Orange Impulse for my accent nails and the stamp color.
I was happy to find this about a month ago on clearance at Walgreens.  Awesome buy for just a $1.49.
Next I painted my ring finger nails on each hand the beautiful orange and then started stamping away.  I used the same orange for the stamping on the yellow fingers.  I used the yellow and Mash plate 43 for the stamping on my accent fingers.  Topped off with a coat of clear insta-dri and then two top coats of Revlon Extra Life No Chip top coat.  This was a fun mani to do.  I'm super happy with the results.  Let me know what you think!

TaTa for now.  Live the life you love!!

Twinkle twinkle

It's been a lazy Sunday so I didn't get real fancy with my mani today.  Here I painted the grey first, then I painted the top half black.  After that I covered the whole nail with a clear glitter.  Then I put down some silver tape to show the line between the two colors better.  Topped it all off with numerous coats of top coat.  Hopefully it won't chip tomorrow.  :)  Enjoy!

Weekend nails

Hello my lovelies!  I'm so happy that tomorrow is Friday.  I decided to just use a simple paint and tip design for the upcoming weekend.  I was fortunate enough to pick up Essie Master Plan this evening at Walgreens. I love this color!!  I was hoping for a little bit grayer, but I still like it  A LOT!!  :)  So I used it as my base and then just painted the tips with Sinful Colors Amethyst.  Enjoy and have a great weekend!!

Reinforcements

Good evening lovelies!  I wasn't planning on a new manicure until tomorrow or Wednesday but my dang thumb chipped this afternoon so instead of fixing one nail I decided to do all.  LOL!  They didn't turn out the way I pictured them in my mind, but they're ok for a day or two.  So, here we go...
I started with a base of Sinful Colors Out of this World.  Then I put a hole reinforcement on the bottom part of my nail.  A little higher than that half moon looking thing under your nail.

I used the reinforcement kinda like taping off the woodwork when you paint a wall.  So I painted down and a little on it so I would have a nice clean line.  For my upper color I used SC Amethyst.  I love this shade of purple.

Next I pulled the reinforcements off and had a nice clean line.  I painted a clear coat of Sally Hansen Insta-Dri to kinda even everything out.  Then I dotted the bottom half with a bunch of different colors.  Pink, green, orange, baby blue, and the same purple I used for the upper part.
Finished off with a top coat and here is the finished product.  I wish I had a clear glitter that I could have put over it.  I think that would have made them look much better.  Maybe if I can drive tomorrow after my cast removal, I'll go to Walgreens and get one.  For now, this will have to do!  Thanks for reading, friends.  Let me know if you have any ideas you'd like me to try.  :)

Hairy Toes and pretty nails....

So my Sis asked me the other day about my hairy toes.... Not one of my best assets that's for sure.  But here's a pic for you Lynne.  Hahaha!  Pay no attention to the poor clean up job on the pedi.  It's hard to work on the toes with the cast.

On a brighter note, today I did stamping again. I picked a beautiful bright pink for my base coat and stamped the Hawaiian looking flowers in white.  Not very hard and detailed but it's been a long day.  Have a great week everyone!   I'll be back with a new mani probably on Wednesday.  Tuesday is busy with getting my cast off and I'll be working on getting my leg and foot cleaned up, shaved, and looking halfway decent.  Of course, I'll have a boot, but I'll be able to remove it for showering and such.

Here's my new mani, with and without the flash.  Enjoy!

Bubbles

Tonight I decided to try a design I found on someone else's blog.  The name of her blog is Wacky Laki if you're interested in seeing where I got the idea.  I never knew there were so many blogs about manicures and nail polish.  :)  It's so fun to find all these different ideas.  Anyway, I really like how this turned out.  It's a combo of dotting and stamping.
All the pretty colors I used.  All of them are sinful colors except the silver I used for the base.  It's wet n wild.  All of the polishes were each only $1.99.  I love getting great designs from inexpensive polish.  Bonus!!

First I painted the silver base.  Then I took my dotting tools and dotted a whole bunch.  I used all the different colors shown above.  I really would like to get more neons.  I think this would look even more awesome with brighter neon.  Then I got my new MASH plate and sinful colors black and stamped on the bubbles.  Coolness, eh??

And here's the final product.  I likee.... what do you think?
